The Santa Fe Style has developed over centuries.  It is the manifestation of multiple cultures giving expression to their stylistic heritage.

Native American cultures such as the Mimbrenos in the Southwest and Anasazi further north are the source of distinctive geometric designs and the original pueblo styles.  These were the aesthetic foundation upon which Mexican peasants made their essential furnishings and simple dwellings with local materials.
